Job Description
Patterson is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Fleet Driver III AH to support our Transportation & Logistics operations within our Animal Health and Dental distribution network. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to deliver a wide range of dental, animal health, and related products to clinics, hospitals, and other professional customers. As a senior-level driver within the fleet team, you will handle complex routes, time-sensitive deliveries, and high-value shipments, representing Patterson’s commitment to service, professionalism, and customer satisfaction on every stop. Working within the Transportation & Logistics department, you will plan and execute daily delivery schedules, load and unload vehicles, verify product accuracy against shipping documents, and ensure that orders arrive on time and in excellent condition. You will interact directly with customers at their facilities, providing courteous, professional service, resolving basic delivery issues, and escalating concerns when needed. As a Fleet Driver III AH, you will also serve as a resource and informal mentor to less experienced drivers, modeling safe driving habits, sharing best practices, and helping maintain Patterson’s high standards for operational excellence. This position requires strict adherence to DOT and company safety regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, accurate log and paperwork completion, and immediate reporting of any issues with vehicles, equipment, or delivery routes. You will be expected to maintain a clean, organized vehicle; follow all traffic laws and Patterson safety policies; and handle products with care, including temperature-sensitive and fragile equipment. Strong route planning, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential, as you may encounter traffic, weather, or schedule changes requiring quick, independent decisions. At Patterson, you will join a supportive, inclusive, and innovative work environment that values teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with dispatch, warehouse, and customer service teams to coordinate efficient deliveries, support process improvements, and ensure an excellent customer experience. The role provides the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues, while contributing directly to the essential supply chain that supports dental and animal health professionals in caring for their patients. The ideal candidate has previous professional driving experience, familiarity with Transportation & Logistics operations, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. You should be comfortable operating medium- to large-sized commercial vehicles, using handheld or onboard technology for route and delivery management, and performing basic vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting. Physical capability to lift, move, and maneuver packages and equipment of varying sizes is required. Patterson offers competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for training and development to grow your career in transportation and logistics within a market-leading healthcare products company.
