Job Description
As a Fleet Driver III AH with Patterson in our Transportation & Logistics department, you play a critical role in safely and efficiently delivering animal health and dental products to veterinary and dental customers. Operating commercial vehicles and handling time-sensitive, often temperature- or handling-sensitive products, you ensure accurate, on-time deliveries across an assigned route while complying with all DOT, company, and safety regulations. You will load and unload trucks using proper material-handling techniques, verify orders and documentation, and maintain accurate delivery logs, manifests, and electronic records. In this customer-facing role, you represent Patterson’s commitment to service excellence by greeting customers professionally, confirming delivery accuracy, handling returns or discrepancies, and communicating any delivery issues promptly to dispatch or your supervisor. You will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance needs, and help ensure the vehicle and equipment remain in safe working condition at all times. Working closely with the Transportation & Logistics team, you support route planning, adjustments for traffic or weather, and coordination with warehouse staff to optimize efficiency and accuracy. You are expected to follow all company policies and procedures, maintain a clean and organized vehicle, and safeguard products according to handling guidelines.
