Primary responsibilities include fueling, cleaning, and preparing buses for service, including conventional, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Operates vehicles in strict compliance with RFTA policies, directives, procedures, and all applicable Federal and Colorado traffic laws and regulations. Performs routine maintenance tasks such as fueling, charging, cleaning, fogging, and washing buses, shuttles, and automotive equipment. Assists mechanics as needed. Follows RFTA procedures for proficient use of automated fueling and fluid management systems. Cleans the interiors of buses, including floors, walls, mirrors, ceilings, carpets, and upholstery, using both manual and powered equipment. Removes, empties, and replaces fare vaults during fueling; downloads fare collection data from buses using a reader. Maintains a clean and organized work area; monitors, refills, and orders cleaning supplies as necessary. Operates and parks buses and automotive equipment inside and outside RFTA maintenance facilities. Updates RFTA’s vehicle tracking system as required. Records vehicle mileage, fuel and fluid usage, and other relevant data in fueling or fleet management systems. Checks EVIR reports while processing vehicles. Parks processed vehicles in designated areas and updates the plot sheet accordingly. Ensures vehicle readiness for prompt pull-out of assigned buses. Conducts routine cleanliness inspections with Operations personnel and performs annual cleanliness inspections for FTA State of Good Repair (SGR) reporting. Documents all actions taken in a professional manner in written and /or electronic format. Completes all necessary forms (e.g., accident, incident, and spill reports, core and warranty information and etc.). Continuously improves professional knowledge, skills, and abilities by participating in training sessions and relevant educational opportunities. Performs fleet-wide projects as assigned during downtime or overlap periods. Attends and actively participates in routine safety meetings and training sessions. Performs additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for bus and automotive fueling, charging, washing, and servicing. Ability to work effectively toward personal, department, and organizational goals, meeting performance standards as outlined in departmental guidelines. Proficiency in computer use, including accurate data entry for maintenance software. Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and manage work activities efficiently. Excellent communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with team members. Ability to safely operate buses, light- and medium-duty trucks, and forklifts. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for safety and documentation purposes. Basic computer literacy to log time and document maintenance issues.
