Job Description
St. Agnes Home is a Catholic assisted living and intermediate care facility dedicated to providing resident-centered care in a compassionate, respectful, and nurturing environment. The Floor Tech plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the facility. This position ensures that residents enjoy a hygienic, safe, and comfortable environment while delivering resident-focused care and professional customer service. The Floor Tech works closely with the Environmental Services team and other departments to uphold safety standards, compliance requirements, and the mission and values of St. Agnes Home. Key Responsibilities Clean, sanitize, and maintain floors, hallways, common areas, and resident rooms according to organizational protocols. Operate floor cleaning equipment, vacuums, buffers, and other related machinery safely and effectively. Ensure all cleaning chemicals and equipment are handled and stored in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer instructions. Perform resident-focused service , showing respect, warmth, and attentiveness while working around residents. Assist with routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and reporting any facility safety concerns. Collaborate with team members and other departments to maintain a smooth workflow and meet facility standards. Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance protocols at all times. Maintain accurate logs and documentation of completed cleaning tasks. Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment that reflects the mission and values of St. Agnes Home. Safety and Compliance Adhere to all facility safety protocols , including infection control, chemical handling, and equipment operation. Report safety hazards, maintenance needs, or potential risks promptly. Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations relevant to environmental services in healthcare settings. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily indoors, with potential exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise. Requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Interaction with residents, families, and staff requires a professional and courteous demeanor. Flexible schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in floor care, custodial work, or environmental services preferred. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
