MANAGER; FOOD BANK JD OBJECTIVE: Coordinates the daily operations of the Bristol Bay Region Food Bank. QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated below under Job Results. Education / Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Two years’ experience in human services or related field. Able to obtain a State of Alaska Food Hander certification. Must be at least 18 years of age. Preferred: Alaska driver’s license and insurable under company policy. Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds. Computer experience required preferably in Word, Excel or Access and willing to learn new computer programs. Must have excellent human relation skills. Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills. Criminal Background Clearance Check Including Fingerprints. JOB RESULTS: Achieve Program Goals by Overseeing the daily operations of the Food Bank, including the daily refrigerator/freezer temperature logs. Maintaining a professional relationship with the clients. Helping clients with the food bank application process. Determining eligibility of applicants and distribute food to those who are eligible using TEFAP’s standards. Providing emergency food on a one-time basis to families in a crisis. Keeping an inventory of food stocked to meet client’s needs. Orders food on an as needed basis from approved vendors. Coordinating with the Aging and Disabilities Division for fish and game donations and distribution. Organizing and assisting with donation drives for food and cash contributions for supplementing the operation of the food bank. Working closely with the Children Services Caseworkers Workers in the villages, providing resource and food bank information. Arranging for food transportation in the most economical fashion to villages within the Bristol Bay region. Recruiting volunteers to help with the daily operations of the food bank. Communicating job expectations; scheduling, and planning activities of volunteers. Assist and/or train volunteers to ensure services are delivered in an efficient and professional manner. Protect Program Integrity and Client Privacy by Participating in staff planning, selection process, directly supervising, and evaluating site staff. Plans daily schedules and trains staff for duties. Modeling professional teamwork and promoting the importance of team productivity. Identifying and prioritizing measurable goals for staff. Helping staff understand the reasons behind their job duties. Delegating responsibilities according to abilities, development, and evolving skills to ensure duties are carried out. Agreeing to BBNA’s policy on confidentiality, keeping confidential information gained through employment secure, during and after this employment. Keeps Management Informed by Completing timely and accurate reports to funding agencies and Family Services Supervisor by keeping accurate statistical information. Working with supervisor to come up with program objectives and goals for each year. Keeping a system for data and files. Travel out of the region by Participating in statewide meetings directly impacting the Regional Food Bank. (1-2 times per year) Contributes to overall team effort by Welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to add value to the organization; helping other accomplish related job results as and where needed. WAGE : $24.15/hr. ($47,092/yr) – $48.84/hr. ($95,238) REPORTS TO : Aging & Disabilities Division Manager DUTY STATION : Dillingham
