Food Expeditor (Expo) Job Description Overview:The Food Expeditor ensures smooth communication between the kitchen and dining room by organizing, checking, and sending out food orders accurately and efficiently.The expo is the final quality checkpoint before dishes reach the guest, making this role essential to both speed of service and guest satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Receive and organize food tickets/orders from servers.Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to coordinate timing of dishes.Check plates for accuracy, portion, presentation, and garnish before they leave the kitchen.Call out orders and manage the flow so all guests at a table receive their meals together.Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold.Plate, garnish, and prepare dishes for service when needed.Work closely with servers and runners to send food to the correct tables quickly.Keep expo line clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.Communicate delays or issues to servers and management immediately.Skills & Qualities:Strong communication and multitasking skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Attention to detail and commitment to food quality.Team-oriented with a focus on hospitality.Reports To:Kitchen Manager / Shift Supervisor Job Types:Full-time, Part-time Pay:From $14.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Flexible schedule Work Location:In person.
