Prep Cook / Kitchen Support – Buffalo Eatz Charlotte, NC | Buffalo Eatz About the Role The Prep Cook / Kitchen Support position is one of the most important roles in our kitchen. This person is the backbone of our back-of-house operation — keeping the kitchen stocked, organized, clean, and inspection-ready at all times. If the line is moving smoothly, it’s because prep did their job right. This is not just a dishwasher role. This is a multi-responsibility position that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and someone who takes ownership of their space. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Vendor Orders Receive and check in all vendor deliveries upon arrival Verify that all ordered items are present and accounted for Immediately notify management of any shortages, substitutions, or missing items Ensure all received products are stored correctly and promptly Food Preparation Prep and clean all vegetables daily Clean and portion raw wings and store them in the correct storage units Prepare eggrolls and other prep items according to Buffalo Eatz standards Date, label, and organize all prepped items in compliance with food safety guidelines Inventory & Organization Organize all incoming inventory into proper storage — dry, refrigerated, and frozen Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked prep area at all times Ensure all products are labeled, dated, and stored correctly — ready to pass a health inspection at any given moment Line Support (Peak Hours) Walk the cooking line during peak hours to ensure all stations are fully stocked Proactively identify and fill any low or missing products before they cause a slowdown Communicate with line cooks to keep service running smoothly and prevent any mid-rush hiccups Kitchen & Facility Cleanliness Maintain cleanliness throughout the entire kitchen space Ensure the dishwashing station is kept up and dishes/equipment are clean and available Keep bathrooms clean and stocked Ensure the kitchen is always in a condition that could pass a health inspection at any time, any hour Team Leadership (Senior Prep) Oversee and direct a team of prep associates Distribute daily prep checklists and ensure all tasks are completed correctly Verify that all items are properly prepped, labeled, dated, and stored before end of shift Lead by example and hold the prep team to Buffalo Eatz standards What We’re Looking For Detail-oriented and highly organized Takes ownership — doesn’t wait to be told what needs to be done Strong communicator with management and kitchen staff Reliable, consistent, and takes pride in a clean kitchen Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Food safety knowledge (ServSafe a plus) Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Why Buffalo Eatz We’re a growing brand with a second location now open.
