Job Description
Low Voltage Foreman Overview Our client is rapidly expanding and seeking experienced Low Voltage Foremen to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead field crews and oversee the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of low voltage systems across commercial and enterprise environments throughout Utah and the surrounding Intermountain Region. The Foreman is responsible for directing and coordinating all job-site activities in accordance with company standards, safety policies, and profitability goals. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while making sound, real-time decisions in the field. Top Required Skills & Experience 5-6+ years of experience leading low voltage projects in large enterprise environments (data centers, commercial buildings, etc.) 5-6+ years of experience managing teams and projects involving: Audio/Visual systems (Crestron, Q-Sys) Access Control systems (PDK/ProdataKey, Salto, Genea, Mercury-based hardware) Data center controls experience is a strong plus 4-5+ years of experience leading cabling, structured cabling, and security camera projects Nice-to-Have / Secondary Skills Cat5 / Cat6 structured cabling Fiber optic cabling Wireless access points (WAP) CCTV systems Troubleshooting and technical support Basic hardware setup and teardown Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise field crews, including subcontractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a safe work environment Serve as the on-site representative, maintaining professional appearance, communication, and work standards Enforce safety as the top priority on every job site Interpret project specifications, schematics, drawings, and job orders; clearly communicate scope of work to the team Plan daily tasks, assign labor effectively, and ensure productivity and profitability goals are met Coach, train, and develop technicians to reach their full potential Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding labor needs, material requirements, progress, and issues Make real-time decisions that improve efficiency, quality, and project outcomes without negatively impacting the customer or company Ensure compliance with local codes, company policies, and industry standards Track labor hours, materials, inventory, and tools accurately and in a timely manner Manage change orders according to company procedures Maintain clean, organized job sites throughout the project and upon completion Participate in post-project reviews to assess performance and profitability Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment, reporting maintenance needs proactively Document and report job-site incidents, injuries, and infractions promptly Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager Technical Experience Hands-on experience installing and servicing access control systems such as: ProdataKey (PDK) Salto Genea Milestone (VMS-integrated access) Mercury-based hardware or similar platforms Experience with Structured cabling (Cat6) Security camera installation IP networking Rack mounting and system termination Strong understanding of local electrical codes and national low voltage standards Additional Qualifications High School diploma or GED Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to use test equipment and basic computer systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation Professional appearance and work ethic Must own or be willing to purchase required personal hand tools Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, and remain on your feet throughout the day Comfortable working at heights of 10 feet or more Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed Required Tools (Technician / Foreman) Punch-down tools (66, 110, Belden, Krone) Phillips and flathead screwdrivers (#1 and #2) 10-in-1 screwdriver Adjustable wrenches (6" and 8") Channel-lock pliers 9" lineman pliers Side cutters (dikes) Needle-nose pliers Flashlight Snips Cable or razor knife Tape measure Torpedo level
