Job Description
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional guest service and supporting the daily operations of the hotel front desk. This role serves as one of the primary points of contact for guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient guest experience from arrival through departure. The Front Desk Agent assists with guest check-in and check-out, reservations, payment processing, guest communications, and coordination with other hotel departments to help ensure smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and service-oriented manner Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently Process reservations, room assignments, payments, and guest requests Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly and professionally Maintain accurate guest records, billing information, and folios Handle cash, credit card transactions, and payment processing in accordance with Company procedures Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments regarding room readiness and guest needs Respond appropriately to guest concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary Maintain front desk logs, shift notes, and communication records Assist guests with directions, hotel information, local recommendations, and general hospitality needs Ensure the front desk, lobby, and guest-facing areas remain clean, organized, and guest-ready Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality standards Maintain professionalism, attendance, grooming, and appearance standards Support team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment Assist with group reservations and special guest requests assigned Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts based on business needs Other duties as assigned Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required Previous customer service, hospitality, hotel, or front desk experience preferred Experience handling cash transactions and working in a fast-paced environment preferred Skills and Competencies Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hotel systems and software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to remain calm and professional when handling guest concerns Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others Reliable, punctual, and dependable Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the hotel lobby and front office areas Ability to navigate stairs and public areas of the property Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment May occasionally assist with guest luggage or office supplies up to 50 pounds Work Environment Primarily based in a hotel lobby and front-office setting Moderate to high guest interaction throughout shifts Moderate noise levels during busy operational periods Requires the ability to remain professional, flexible, and guest-focused while managing multiple priorities Mission Ranch provides reasonable accommodation to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
