Medical Front Office Receptionist / Medical Assistant San Diego Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists Carlsbad, CA Full-Time San Diego Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists is seeking a professional, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Front Office Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth front office operations in a fast-paced specialty medical practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, compassionate, and comfortable multitasking while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service. This role will primarily support front office operations, with opportunities to assist in the back office as needed. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information while maintaining confidentiality Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions regarding appointments and services Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Obtain and manage HMO and PPO authorizations Process insurance and billing-related information as needed Maintain accurate appointment scheduling and confirmations Balance daily payments, receipts, and batch summaries Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff using appropriate medical terminology Assist with administrative and clerical tasks to support office operations Cross-train and assist in the back office as needed Qualifications Previous experience in a medical front office or healthcare setting required Medical Assistant experience preferred Epic EHR experience strongly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Why Join Our Team?
