Front of House / Bakery Counter Associate The Fold Bakery LLC – Berkeley, CA The Opportunity: We are a small-batch artisan bakery opening in mid-June in Berkeley. We specialize in hand-laminated pastries and sourdough rolls. We are a tiny, dedicated team of two: I bake, and you sell. Because our team is so small, we are looking for a foundational partner who is deeply reliable and excited to grow with us. This is a focused, 12-hour-per-week role (Thursday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) perfect for those who want to be finished with their workday before noon. The Heart of the Role: We operate in a "to-go" style with no table service, focusing on a calm and mindful customer experience. We want our customers to feel cared for from the moment they walk in. What We Are Looking For: The "Relay" Partner: Because there are only two of us, showing up on time and being present for every shift is vital. We need someone we can count on who understands that if one person is missing, the bakery can't open its doors. Mindful Communicator: You listen to instructions, ask questions, and—most importantly—share your thoughts. We want someone who gives feedback on how we can do things better together. Calm & Positive: You maintain a steady, kind presence even when things get busy or unexpected situations arise. Caring About It All: We want someone who cares about the whole experience—the customers, the products, and the space. You are present and listen to our customers, you help them feel cared for while taking pride in the craft we are sharing with them. Your Morning Flow: 7:00 AM Setup: Brew coffee, set up the coffee station, beautifully arrange our pastries and bread with price labels. Ambience: Set up our outdoor seating and A-frame signs, prepare bags/boxes. Service: Help our customers and manage payments using the Square POS system. 11:00 AM Closing: Wrap remaining pastries for the freezer, clean the coffee/FOH area, bring in the outdoor signage and clean the outdoor seating. Compensation & Perks: Pay: $20.00/hour + Cash Tips + Shared Square Employee Tip Pool (divided by hours worked). Schedule: Thursday–Saturday | 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Starting June 17. Rest & Recharge: We provide a paid 10-minute break during your shift. Breakfast is on us: Enjoy our coffee, pastries, and bread during your 10 min break time.
