F&B Front of House Manager — Evanston Corner Bistro We're looking for someone ready to take the next step into F&B management — not just do the job, but grow your career. You'll lead a sharp FOH team at one of Evanston's most established dining destinations, inside the Hilton Orrington. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, real mentorship, and a team that's genuinely invested in your next move. Who we are Evanston Corner Bistro sits on the ground floor of the Hilton Orrington in the heart of downtown Evanston. We have an expansive bar, private dining areas, and a covered terrace with heat lamps for those chilly nights. The menu is contemporary, affordable, and built around fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. We get busy. We like it that way. What you'll own This isn't a shadow role. You'll run the floor, lead the team, and be the standard-setter every shift: Lead the daily pre-shift meeting — set the tone, share the info, prep the team Assign and manage server sections; make smart calls on cuts as the night winds down Be the first face on guest recovery — handle issues in the moment, document what needs follow-up Partner with the Director of Operations on training programs and new hire onboarding Enforce health code compliance and liquor law adherence — no exceptions Keep the floor stocked, organized, and ready before service and throughout Communicate clearly with the Director of Operations and management team on anything that matters Drive beverage and food sales with genuine, knowledgeable suggestive selling — not a script, a conversation What we're offering A real launchpad — structured mentorship from experienced operators who want to see you move up Exposure to hotel F&B operations in a high-volume, full-service environment Staff meals and dining perks A positive, team-first culture where the people in charge actually know your name Growth into senior management for the right person What you bring 1–2 years of restaurant experience — supervisory background is a plus, not a requirement Genuine passion for hospitality and an instinct for taking care of people Strong floor presence: calm under pressure, authoritative without being stiff Menu knowledge that goes deep — food, wine, spirits, allergens Comfortable with POS systems and basic math (you'll use both daily) Professional presentation and communication — in person and on the floor Flexible availability including weekends and holidays Certifications (required within 30 days of hire) ServSafe Allergen BASSET Apply now.
