Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Office/Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and insurance providers, ensuring smooth administrative operations within our dental practice. Your expertise will facilitate efficient scheduling, accurate insurance benefit verification/documentation, and seamless communication between patients, providers, and payers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience while leveraging your knowledge of dental billing, coding, and insurance procedures to support our practice’s success. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with appointment scheduling using Dentrix. Collect and review patient insurance details, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate before procedures. Verify insurance coverage and benefits by communicating with insurance companies, including understanding DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and other relevant billing information. Process insurance claims efficiently by applying proper medical coding standards such as ICD coding and CPT coding to ensure accurate reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, resolving discrepancies to optimize revenue flow. Maintain detailed dental records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations while managing documentation related to billing and insurance claims. Assist with patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options to foster transparency and trust. Stay current with updates in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance policies to ensure compliance and accuracy in all transactions. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office environment is highly preferred. Experience with EMR/EHR systems used for managing patient records and billing processes. Demonstrated ability to handle dental collections efficiently while maintaining professionalism. Excellent understanding of dental terminology, dental records management, dental insurance verification procedures Proven ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare staff to resolve issues promptly.
