Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Office Receptionist/Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating demographic information and verifying insurance details. Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance pre-authorizations, and handle billing inquiries related to medical collections and claims processing. Maintain meticulous medical records by reviewing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls to appropriate staff members with excellent phone etiquette. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), managing office supplies, and supporting overall clinic management. Support documentation review processes for CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing procedures to ensure proper reimbursement. Use various EHR systems like Dentrix to update patient information, document care plans, and manage health information securely. Collaborate with clinical teams to facilitate patient intake procedures and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong front desk or receptionist responsibilities. Familiarity with systems such as Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing practices including Medicare procedures. Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance verification efficiently. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software like Meditech or similar platforms. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks. Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Experience working with multi-line phone systems and handling high-volume intake processes is advantageous.
