At Kittery Trading Post, we are more than a retailer--we are a family-owned and family-run community rooted in outdoor heritage, craftsmanship, and authentic connection.For generations, we have served customers who value quality, adventure, and tradition.Our team members bring that same passion to life every day, creating welcoming experiences built on knowledge, trust, and pride in what we do.We believe in doing things the right way:treating people with respect, supporting one another, and honoring the family legacy we are entrusted to carry forward.When you work at Kittery Trading Post, you become part of a close-knit team that values hard work, integrity, and a shared love of the outdoors.Job Description The Fudge Counter Associate plays an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable customer experience at Kittery Trading Post.This position is responsible for preparing and serving fresh fudge, roasting nuts, brewing coffee, bagging candy and fudge, and providing outstanding customer service.The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in food preparation, and thrives in a fast-paced retail setting.Key Responsibilities Prepare, cut, package, and sell fresh fudge products Learn and follow established recipes and procedures to make fudge Roast nuts and ensure freshness, quality, and proper presentation Operate and maintain coffee brewers to provide fresh coffee for guests Bag candy, fudge, and other specialty food items with care and attention to presentation Accurately ring up sales using the point-of-sale system Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions responsibly Deliver friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service Keep the fudge counter, candy displays, coffee area, and workspaces clean, organized, and fully stocked Follow food safety, sanitation, and store cleanliness standards Assist with restocking supplies and notifying leadership of low inventory Qualifications Friendly and customer-focused attitude Ability to learn food preparation techniques, including fudge making and nut roasting Comfortable operating coffee brewing equipment and point-of-sale systems Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Reliable and punctual, with consistent weekend availability Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift up to 30 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts Preferred Skills Previous retail, food service, candy, bakery, or specialty food experience preferred Cash handling and sales experience a plus Passion for creating a fun and welcoming shopping experience Schedule Requirement:Must be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Job Types:Temporary, Part-time Pay:$15.10 - $18.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Paid time off Application Question(s):Why are you interested in this position at Kittery Trading post?
