About the role This is an individual contributor role. We're looking for someone who can write production-quality code and own significant scope. You'll ship features end-to-end across our React/Vite/shadcn frontend and Python/FastAPI backend. You'll partner with design, product, and the founder on what to build, then own the API design, the migration, the UI, and the deploy. Light touch on prompts and evals for now, with room to grow into deeper LLM-systems. What you'll do Ship product features across our React frontend and FastAPI/Postgres backend on a fast cadence. Own features from "rough Figma plus a problem statement" to "deployed and demoed to an executive." Use AI coding tools as part of your normal workflow. Make pragmatic calls on what's demo-grade and what needs hardening. What we're looking for ~3-5 years of production experience, ideally at an early-stage startup or product-focused team. One or two features you personally owned end-to-end. We'll want you to walk us through them. Production work in either React/TypeScript or Python, and the willingness to ramp on the other. Active use of AI coding tools. You can show us you're fluent in a live exercise. Comfort with ambiguity and rough-but-shipped over polished-but-late. Bay-area-commutable. OK with 3 days a week in person. Bonus points Prior experience with shadcn, Radix, Tailwind, FastAPI, Alembic, Postgres, TanStack Query, Clerk, Supabase, Vercel, or Railway. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, key skills, and geographic location.
