B Cup Cafe & Eatery, an East Village NYC establishment open for 20 years, is seeking a Full- Time Barista/Server. We’re expecting a dedication to sales and growth, punctuality, and care for our guests and space. We’re a tight knit team with a drama-free workplace. Pay: Hourly + Tips Required Experience : 1yrs+ Responsibilities: Learn all menu drinks and be able to suggest popular choices and add-ons to customers. Host & lead the counter shift. ***Must be able to converse with customers and promote a positive, welcoming, and engaging environment. High focus on socializing and familiarity with regulars. Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately. Must handle food safely and follow proper food handling and cleanliness procedures. Serve food and drink orders, with light table service and bussing. General cleaning, opening, & closing tasks. What it takes: We want people who want to help our café thrive. Ability to socialize with customers, whether it be a quick check in during order placement or a conversation as you complete other tasks. Ability to learn quickly with a focus on quality, speed, and great customer service. Prior experience in coffee/kitchen and customer service is mandatory. Must be fluent in English. Spanish is a plus. NY Food Handler's certificate is a plus. Specifications: Starting out part-time for training, adjusting to up to 40 hours a week once training is complete. WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS MANDATORY. 6-8 hour shifts. ***Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
