Job Description
As an FSQR Lead at Cargill within our Food & Beverage Operations, you will play a key role in protecting consumers, customers, and the Cargill brand by leading food safety, quality, and regulatory (FSQR) programs at the plant level. Working in the Quality Assurance & Testing function, you will serve as the primary technical resource for food safety and quality on site, partnering with operations, maintenance, sanitation, and supply chain to ensure that every product leaving the facility meets rigorous internal and external standards. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day FSQR activities on the production floor, including in-process checks, product inspections, environmental monitoring, and laboratory testing. You will maintain and continuously improve HACCP plans, prerequisite programs, and food safety systems in alignment with FSMA and GFSI requirements. Leveraging your knowledge of regulatory expectations and customer specifications, you will interpret test data, monitor process performance, and work with plant teams to resolve issues before they impact product quality or food safety. You will take ownership of incident management, including non-conformances, customer complaints, and deviations, using structured root cause analysis tools to identify underlying causes and drive effective corrective and preventive actions. You will lead preparation for internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring audit readiness throughout the year and following through on corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Documentation and systems management will be central to your work. You will maintain product and process specifications, SOPs, testing protocols, and quality records to ensure compliance, traceability, and alignment with Cargill’s global standards. You will collaborate closely with corporate FSQR and regional teams to implement best practices and support new product introductions, process changes, and improvement projects from an FSQR perspective. As a people leader and subject-matter expert, you will coach and guide FSQR technicians and plant personnel, modeling Cargill’s culture of integrity, safety, and inclusive growth. You will help build a strong food safety and quality culture by leading training on GMPs, hygiene, hazard awareness, and audit expectations, and by engaging team members at all levels in problem-solving and continuous improvement. Cargill offers the opportunity to contribute directly to global food security and sustainability through safe, high-quality food production. In this dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be encouraged to think independently, innovate, and use data and analytical tools to improve processes and outcomes. You will have opportunities for professional growth across multiple functions and locations as you deepen your expertise in FSQR and play a visible role in advancing Cargill’s commitment to safe, sustainable food systems.
