Job Description
Pay: $23.00 per hour Job description: YOUTH OPERATIONS COORDINATOR THE POSITION We are looking for a part-time Youth Operations Coordinator to help oversee and grow our youth tabletop gaming programs at BGE’s Tabletop in West Hills and at various partner locations throughout the Los Angeles area. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about youth development, tabletop gaming, community building, and creating positive experiences for kids and families. The Youth Operations Coordinator will begin with foundational training in customer service, front counter operations, and store systems before gradually transitioning into youth program coordination and operational leadership responsibilities. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20–30 hours per week based on program and business needs. Additional hours will likely be available during Spring Break Camps, Summer Camps, convention programming, and other seasonal youth events. This position may require occasional travel to school sites or community events, and mileage reimbursement may be provided when applicable. This role includes a growth path into a future Youth Director position for the right candidate. ABOUT US Board Gaming with Education began as a podcast in 2018 and has since grown into a broader community focused on using tabletop games to support learning, social development, and connection. We operate an eCommerce store and community space, BGE’s Tabletop, and host youth programs, clubs, events, and camps throughout the Los Angeles area. Responsibilities include Supporting and eventually overseeing youth tabletop gaming programs, camps, clubs, and events Assisting with scheduling, logistics, setup, and program coordination Creating welcoming, structured, and engaging environments for youth participants Helping train, support, and coordinate Youth DMs and Youth Coordinators Assisting with customer service and front counter responsibilities as part of initial onboarding and ongoing operational support (see ongoing responsibilities below) Supporting youth-focused programming including Dungeons & Dragons, Pokémon, board games, and other tabletop activities Communicating professionally with parents, staff, schools, and community partners Addressing minor behavioral or social issues using established program guidelines Helping maintain organization of program materials, supplies, and spaces Supporting registration, check-in, and attendance tracking processes Assisting with curriculum development and activity planning for youth programs Help maintain operational continuity for youth programs by coordinating contingency staffing plans and assisting with backup coverage as needed Representing BGE’s Tabletop and Board Gaming with Education in a professional, friendly, and community-focused manner Supporting special events, conventions, camps, and seasonal programming as needed As a Youth Operations Coordinator, you will help oversee the execution, organization, and day-to-day support of youth programming at BGE’s Tabletop while also supporting general retail and customer service operations within the store. Responsibilities include Supporting and eventually overseeing youth tabletop gaming programs, camps, clubs, and events Assisting with scheduling, logistics, setup, and coordination for youth programming Helping maintain operational continuity for youth programs by coordinating contingency staffing plans and assisting with backup coverage as needed Operating store systems and tools including the point-of-sale (POS) system, inventory systems, and online order fulfillment processes Supporting front counter operations and providing excellent customer service to guests both in-store and online Handling cash transactions and providing accurate change to guests Helping create and maintain a w
