Claussen's Florist, Greenhouse & Perennial Farm is looking for friendly and hard-working individuals to assist in all aspects of our fast-paced Garden Center.This position is the first associate customers encounter when they walk into our business.Our Sales Associates must have excellent customer service skills and have a genuine interest & knowledge of the horticultural field and plant identification.We are looking for positive and energetic individuals with previous gardening experience and knowledge for Houseplants, Annuals, Perennials and additional Seasonal Crops.You must be comfortable assisting customers with Plant Care and Plant Identification inquires, in addition to checking them out.Candidates must be available to start immediately and be available to work full-time throughout August.Start Date:March 15, 2026 We are looking for a Sales Associate to work 9:30am - 6:00 pm, five days per week.A continuous weekend shift is required, please do not apply if you are not available on weekends.Job Responsibilities:Assisting customers with gardening questions & care (Annuals, Houseplants, Perennials, Vegetables & additional seasonal crops) Operating cash register.Answering multi line phone.Maintaining retail space; re-stock, organize, cleaning and display design and setup Represent the Claussen's company in a courteous and professional manner Communicate with the Claussen's team on all questions, concerns and feedback from customers.Ability and willingness to be cross trained in multiple areas of the business to accommodate seasonal demands.Qualifications:Minimum of 1year of previous horticulture experience Ability to identify houseplants, annuals, perennials, vegetables, and additional seasonal crops.Minimum of 1year of retail sales & customer service experience.Knowledge of plant varieties (Annuals, Houseplants, Perennials, Vegetables & additional seasonal crops), basic care, identifying quality issues, diseases, and pests.Ability to lift between 30 - 50 lbs & assist customers with bags of soil, mulch and fertilizers.Available to work weekends and evenings.Job Type:Seasonal full-time (40 hrs / week) This position is available through August, with the opportunity to transition into a full time employee.Schedule:8-hour shifts, 5 days a week (40 hours) Available to work shifts between 7:45am - 6:15 pm, 7 days a week.Holidays Overtime available Weekend availability is required, Please do not apply if you are unable to work continuous weekend shifts.Please keep in mind that May & June is our busiest season of the year, we are unable to approve any time off between May 1st through June 30th.Compensation:Wages range from $18.00 - $21.00 per hour Hourly wages will vary based on previous work experience and education Benefits:Employee discount- 20% off plants, pottery & hard goods.401k with employer match after 6 months of employment..Job Types:Full-time, Temporary, Seasonal Pay:$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) Employee discount Application Question(s):Are you available to work Full Time (40 hours a week)?
