Position summary: Forecast load requirements, design day analysis, and provide backup for commercial supply activity, including physical purchasing and executing financial transactions related to company hedging requirements. Pay Range: This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Analyst: $72,900 - $109,250 Senior Analyst: $86,700 - $130,050 Reporting Relationship: Gas Supply Senior Manager Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas or Council Bluffs, Iowa Essential Functions: Updating all load projections (Annual, Monthly and possibly daily) for all Black Hills Gas LDC’s. Update formal plan filings as necessary. Responsible for design day studies. Utilizes regression analysis and other analytical tools to determine appropriate levels of firm entitlement and gas supply requirements for each pipeline and operating regions. Conducts analysis on scheduled load to actual load. Responsible for monthly (daily on occasion as instructed) and seasonal design day studies. This will specifically include utilizing regression analysis (and other analytical tools) to best determine the appropriate levels of firm entitlement and monthly, seasonal and daily gas supply requirements for each pipeline and operating region. Work with Regulatory Affairs staff in communication with state commissions regarding design days, firm entitlement levels and regression analysis. This will include responsibility to appropriately respond to data requests, presentation material, analytical support, etc. Responsible for all Gas Supply regions. Conduct post-mortem analysis on scheduled load to actual load. Research any variations and suggest updates to pipeline service contracts. Develops and recommends continued refinement of system support related to forecasting and design day studies. Participate in and/or lead special projects in Gas Supply including review, and integration if necessary of load forecast for any acquisitions. Serve as the lead contact for weather data. Produce various weather-related reports and their impact on system load. Develop or support development of presentations for Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, PUC and customer meetings. Additional Responsibilities: Regularly use spreadsheets, database and word processing software, and periodically learn new programs. Deals with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism. Excellent communication skills, both personal and electronic; must maintain a high level of professionalism; must possess a very high level of verbal skills and be able to listen carefully. Maintains a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance. May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed. May be required to carry a company provided cell phone and be available to respond during working hours. May also be required to respond during non-working hours, especially related to company emergencies. What Is Required: Analyst: Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of 3 years of experience with statistical and data analysis and modeling with emphasis in linear regression required. This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time. Senior Analyst: Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of 5 years of experience with statistical and data analysis and modeling with emphasis in linear regression required. This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
