General Counsel – Real Estate Development ZD Jasper Realty Great Neck, NY ZD Jasper Realty is a vertically integrated New York real estate development company with active projects across Manhattan, Queens, including ground-up residential, condominium, mixed-use, and rental developments. We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to oversee the Company’s legal matters across development, construction, acquisitions, financing, leasing, corporate operations, and risk management. This is a senior in-house position working closely with ownership and executive leadership across all aspects of the business. Responsibilities Oversee legal matters relating to acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financing, and development transactions Review and negotiate construction contracts, consultant agreements, vendor contracts, leasing documents, and corporate agreements Manage outside counsel across litigation, employment, condo offering plans, regulatory matters, and disputes Support development and construction teams on project-related legal and risk management matters Review insurance claims, compliance matters, and corporate governance documentation Assist with entity structuring, operational risk management, and strategic business matters Coordinate legal documentation related to lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies Maintain organized legal records and documentation systems Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from accredited law school Licensed attorney in New York State preferred Minimum 5+ years experience in real estate law, development, construction, or related transactional practice Strong experience with NYC real estate development, contracts, and construction-related matters preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and legal matters simultaneously Strong judgment, organization, communication, and negotiation skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Good Standing compensation structure Performance bonus opportunity Medical and dental insurance 401(k) plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Long-term growth opportunity within an expanding NYC real estate platform Location This is an in-office position based in Great Neck, NY, with periodic meetings and jobsite visits throughout New York City.
