Job Description:Must have good oral and written English communication skills.Duties include any of the basic job duties outlined below.Shoveling of ash and trash build up from under and around conveyor systems and hoppers.Transport with wheelbarrow.General removal of debris throughout the plant and or along plant roadways/open areas or removal of trash/garbage and debris from repair activities.Cleaning and maintenance inside boilers and hoppers.(Confined Space with full-face respirator) Material handling of plant material and equipment including staging, pipes, air hoses, boiler tube, tube shields, etc.This duty requires the entry and exit to the boiler area and full face respiration equipment is required.Painting Operating transport equipment (bobcat, forklift, man lift.Blow down areas.Hole watch attendant (Confined Space with full-face respirator watch).Fire watch attendant.Scaffolding attendant.Vacuum truck assistant, direct hose while Covanta employee operates vehicle.LPower washing heavy equipment. General Plant Requirements All contractors must receive site safety orientation training before commencing work Contractors must be able to stand for long periods of time Contractors must be able to use job tools as provided (shovels, racks, hoes, wheelbarrows, cutting tools, grinders and vacuum systems) Contractors will supply the necessary PPE to perform the task and the PPE must be worn.Contractors must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.Contractor Lead to attend morning planning meetings.Contractor will have his own labeled lock out lock.Contractor may need to access roof tops and Confined Space with full-face respirators as well as hot/dusty environments Contractors must be trained in the hazards in working around conveyors, heavy equipment, and in a hot and dusty environment.
