Job Description
As General Manager, you are responsible for leading a dedicated team of employees to ensure the success of each of the following operations: The Black Cow Bistro, Events at The Gables, and once opened, The Inn at The Gables. The General Manager reports directly to the business owners. Duties & Expectations: Oversees day-to-day operations, providing support as needed and seeking opportunities to build team morale and guest rapport Engages with guests regularly and responds to guest issues or feedback in a timely manner and with genuine concern and care Oversees recruiting, selecting, hiring and retaining talented and skill-matched hospitality enthusiasts for all positions within the operation Manages the performance of team members, providing feedback with sensitivity and care in a timely fashion to maintain a productive and healthy work environment Ensures compliance with established health and safety policies and procedures, always leading by example Manages operational budget, including forecasting, P&L accountability, COGs, inventories, and labor Maintains clear order guides and inventory records in order to accurately estimate future supply needs Seeks out new product and opportunities for improving the operation and its profitability, partnering with our marketing team to support any new initiatives, Researches new vendors and regularly reviews COGS reports for price changes, updating order guides as necessary Ensures preventative maintenance of all facility and equipment is completed according to company standards Responsible for following and holding others accountable to all company cash handling and loss preventions policies and procedures Accountable for all employee relations, worker’s compensation, and guest injury reporting and follow up Genuine enthusiasm for providing and coaching others to provide outstanding food, beverage, hospitality and service Qualifications Minimum of (5) years experience in restaurant management Must display ethical conduct and lead by example at all times Ability to communicate effectively in order to develop and maintain professional relationships with co-workers, vendors, and guests Advanced written and verbal proficiency of the English language is necessary for this role.
