Job Description
Overview At Tropical Smoothie Café, we inspire a healthier lifestyle by serving amazing food and smoothies — with a bit of tropical fun! As a General Manager, you are the brand ambassador on the floor. You'll be responsible for developing a crew that serves customers with excellent hospitality, supporting the management, and driving performance in a fast-paced, energetic café environment. Responsibilities Lead daily café operations across all shifts — opening, closing, and peak periods — ensuring smooth service, brand standards, and a high-energy team environment Supervise, coach, and develop Crew Members and Shift Leaders; model Tropical Smoothie Café's core values and "Unparalleled Hospitality" in every interaction Oversee food preparation, presentation, and station setup to brand standards; enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness across all kitchen and front-of-house areas Manage inventory, supply ordering, vendor communication, and waste minimization; support rollout of new promotional items Handle cash management, POS accountability, and opening/closing duties; step in to perform any crew role as needed Assist with hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new team members to maintain adequate staffing levels Complete the Café Basics and Certified Trainer Program; become knowledgeable and proficient in every position within the café Maintain a flexible schedule including varied shifts, weekends, and holidays (most shifts 4–8 hours) Comply with Tropical Smoothie Café uniform and personal hygiene policies at all times Requirements Proven experience in food service management or supervisory roles within quick service or fast food restaurants Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and developing employees Experience with TSC or another fast-casual/QSR brand strongly preferred Background in hospitality management, including staff training, team supervision, and customer service excellence Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and food safety protocols effectively Excellent leadership skills with experience in supervising diverse teams in casual dining or restaurant environments Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and develop staff talent Reliable transportation required Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs throughout each shift Availability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Join us as an General Manager and be part of a lively team dedicated to delivering fresh smoothies, flavorful wraps, and exceptional hospitality.
