GIS Supervisor (Hybrid eligible) Compensation: Minimum $88,920.00 Employment Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt Civil Service Status: Unclassified The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a GIS Supervisor to join the GIS team. Who are we? The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and accuracy in weight and measures across the county. What will you do? Manages and supervises all assigned employees (e.g., schedules and assigns tasks; interviews job applicants; recommends the hiring of job applicants; recommends discipline; recommends pay assignments; evaluates performance; receives employee complaints; approves and recommends the approval of leave requests; attends or participates in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed or discussed; develops and implements policy; recommends policy changes, etc.). Coordinates the establishment and ongoing administration of system database; ensures the accuracy of information and data; manages a versioned GIS editing environment; receives inquiries concerning system operations and/or procedures; provides information to the public as required; develops policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the quality and integrity of the database and systems. Assists with the development, implementation, quality control, and maintenance of the County’s geographic information systems (e.g., prioritizes requirements, defines strategic direction, acquires hardware and software, prepares requests for proposals, evaluates vendor responses and performance, develops standard operating procedures, conducts needs assessments, including licensing needs, coordinates system designs between offices, maintains ArcGIS software, syncs procedures for all data that is obtained from outside sources and stored on the server, maintains metadata; etc.). Conducts training and provides technical guidance regarding the function and use of data and software managed by the County’s GIS. Produces a variety of periodic and special reports related to the GIS system; reviews professional publications and other documentation to keep apprised of developments in the field. Who should apply? We encourage individuals with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in geography, engineering, planning, data sciences, GIS, computer science, information management systems, or related discipline; four (4) or more years of related experience and/or training, specifically, progressive experience in managing personnel and projects, hardware/software implementation and application support and development; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Geographic Information System Professional Certification issued by the GIS Certification Institute preferred. ESRI Certification and PMI certification a plus.
