Job Description
I. Position Overview The Global Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for formulating and driving the organization's global Operational Excellence strategy. Through Lean management, process optimization, digital transformation, and cross-regional collaboration, this role aims to enhance organizational efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve customer satisfaction and business profitability. This position is typically found within large-scale enterprises across sectors such as multinational manufacturing, supply chain management, healthcare, technology, and consumer goods. II. Core Responsibilities Global Operational Excellence Strategy Formulation Develop and drive the global operational excellence framework and long-term improvement roadmap. Establish unified operational standards, processes, and KPI systems. Drive the standardization of operational models across global factories and regions. Support the execution of corporate strategy and the achievement of business growth objectives. Lean & Continuous Improvement Implement continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and TPM. Lead cost reduction and productivity improvement projects. Establish a culture and mechanism for continuous improvement. Drive improvements in core metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), capacity, quality, and delivery performance. Global Project Management Lead major cross-country and cross-functional operational improvement projects. Manage project budgets, resources, schedules, and risks. Establish a global PMO (Project Management Office) governance framework. Drive and monitor the effective implementation of projects. Digital Operations Transformation Drive initiatives in smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, automation, and data analytics. Collaborate with IT and Digital teams to optimize ERP, MES, and WMS systems. Establish systems for operational data visualization and real-time monitoring. Leverage AI and data analytics to drive data-informed decision-making. Global Team & Organizational Capability Building Build the organizational structure for global operational excellence. Develop regional operational improvement leaders and "Black Belt" talent. Establish training systems and mechanisms for sharing best practices. Enhance cross-cultural team collaboration capabilities. Supply Chain & Customer Operations Optimization Optimize supply chain efficiency and inventory management. Improve On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and customer satisfaction. Coordinate operational synergies across procurement, production, logistics, and sales functions. Support ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainable operations objectives. III. Job Qualifications Educational Background Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations Management. MBA preferred. Work Experience 20+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations management. 5+ years of leadership experience in global or regional operational excellence. Experience working in multinational corporations is preferred. Experience leading large-scale transformation projects is preferred. Professional Competencies Proficiency in methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Kaizen. Deep understanding of global supply chain and manufacturing operations. Experience in digital transformation initiatives. Expertise in project management and change management. Strong data analytics capabilities.
