LOCATION: Hybrid on average 1-2 days/wk in Alsip, IL or Lombard, IL USA* COMP RANGE: $120,000 - $145,000/yr plus bonus in USA Griffith Foods is hiring a Global Standards Engineer to develop and implement engineering standards and best practices while coaching and enhancing the competency of global engineering teams. In this key technical role, you will ensure compliance with industry regulations, improve product quality, and drives cost and time efficiency in engineering projects to align with the company’s growth objectives. Although the role does not have direct reports, in this position, you will exercise functional authority over technical standards for roles such as Maintenance Managers, Production Supervisors, Process Improvement Engineers, etc. This is your opportunity to work on a transformational journey, aligned with our long term strategy and 2030 aspirations and setting standards for engineers around the globe. As a Global Standards Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Include Developing standards, guidelines, and internal best practices while harmonizing technical platforms & specifications globally Leveraging process engineering knowledge to understand dependencies of product, equipment and processes, involving basic and detailed engineering, to develop and maintain standards Maintaining comprehensive records and revision control processes, and ensure records are readily available and accessible globally. Developing & delivering training on industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Supporting Regional Engineers in their audits to verify compliance, and revising standards based on project defect analysis and feedback to design Providing expertise on the application of standards in design, development, and production including assisting project teams in interpreting and applying standards. Partner with stakeholders to integrate standards into capital projects, and Support investment decisions by establishing standards that optimize return on investment. Incorporate environmental objectives into product design, and manufacturing processes. Engage with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay informed of best practices, and staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation. The Global Standards Engineer position is well-suited for you if you: Demonstrated a deep understanding of process engineering, including equipment functionality, manufacturing processes, and how product properties depend on those processes and equipment and can apply that knowledge to developing standards for plant and process design, as well as for establishing both basic and detailed engineering standards Demonstrate extensive knowledge of regulatory standards, including Employee Health & Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, and Quality Systems, and can ensure compliance and integration into engineering practices. Have background in Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for driving operational efficiency and process improvements. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation. Qualified Candidates Will Have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related fields. 7 years of experience engineering standards, compliance, or a related role Previous experience in food/CPG or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Must be willing and able to travel 25% globally for audits or major meetings. willingness to work onsite in at a Griffith location 1-2 days per week Qualified candidates must currently possess authorization to work in the country in which they are applying. What Will Set You Apart Hands on Engineering Project Management and Execution Experience required A background in Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies. PE license or designation There is potential for a discretionary bonus, with a target of 12%. This bonus is based on personal & company performance and is not a guaranteed bonus plan.
