Job Description
A well-established and growing mid-size firm with over 35 years in practice is seeking a Government Contracts Associate to join their Washington, DC office. This Associate would have 5+ years of experience in federal government contracting, advising clients across regulatory compliance, contract performance, bid protests, and dispute resolution. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated, national-level government contracting matters while benefiting from a collegial, mentorship-driven environment. Offer $185,000 - $225,000+ base salary, contingent on experience Performance-based bonus structure Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Parental leave Hybrid remote flexibility Pro bono opportunities and ongoing training and development Qualifications 5+ years of government contracts experience Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials preferred Active DC bar license in good standing, Maryland and/or Virginia licensure a plus Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR and DFARS) Prior experience with a federal agency, administrative board, or federal court strongly preferred Strong legal research and writing skills Responsibilities Advising clients on day-to-day compliance with federal procurement regulations and agency-specific requirements Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating teaming agreements and joint venture arrangements Counseling clients on prime contract and subcontract rights, performance issues, and risk mitigation Preparing and resolving Requests for Equitable Adjustment, claims, and bid protests Supporting subcontractor dispute resolution and negotiations with contracting officers Advising on high-stakes government actions including contract terminations, suspension, debarment, and related investigations Conducting legal research and writing on federal contracting matters Maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients on case status and strategy For this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
