Job Description
Position Objective: The candidate will independently provide support services as a Grants Program Analyst to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. Duties and Responsibilities: Triage competing grant applications: Set appropriate work priorities, apply knowledge of organizational needs and deadlines, and follow up to ensure receipt of required documentation (to include uploading documents to the official grant folder). Perform thorough review of competing grant applications including noting any bars to funding, foreign involvement, summary statement concerns, within specified timeframes including timely issuance of award notices. Perform administrative analysis including budget concerns; human and animal subject codes and regulatory analyses of grant applications using basic knowledge of applicable NIH grant policies and NHLBI procedures. Facilitate communication and correspondence including response to inquiries and/or policy and procedural guidance to be sent to grantee’s and Federal Staff; perform as a resource of information providing recommendations for grantee and Federal staff: Respond to communications (letters, memos, phone calls, e-mails, etc.). Prepare correspondence which fully and accurately addresses administrative issues (prior approvals) in a clear and concise manner.
