Role: Production Designer / Production Artist – Footwear Design **Location: Portland, OR (PHK) Duration: 7 Months** About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Designer / Production Artist to support the Footwear Digital Design team within AP Design Excellence. This role focuses heavily on the technical side of graphic production and schematic execution. The ideal candidate will work closely with Graphic Designers to translate creative concepts into accurate production-ready files, technical schematics, and design specifications. This is not a conceptual design role. The team is looking for candidates who enjoy the production process, technical execution, organization of files, and building detailed schematic layouts for product graphics and print applications. Key Responsibilities Execute production-ready graphic files from existing creative direction and design concepts Create detailed tech pack schematics and technical graphic layouts Prepare accurate artwork files for production and print applications Maintain organized design files, layers, labeling systems, and version control Collaborate with Graphic Designers and cross-functional partners to ensure production accuracy Apply typography, print design, and technical production knowledge to footwear and product graphics Support pre-press preparation, color separations, and print execution workflows Ensure consistency and quality across all production deliverables Required Qualifications 1+ years of experience in schematic or graphic production design Background in areas such as: Packaging Design Print Design Technical Graphic Design Book Design Typography Footwear/Product Graphics Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field preferred Strong technical design and production execution skills Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator Ability to work within established design systems and production standards Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of: Pre-press workflows Screen printing Color separations Print production processes Trims and labeling systems Experience maintaining production files for product design Interest in footwear and product creation Previous experience within footwear, apparel, or related consumer product industries preferred Portfolio Requirements Candidates Must Provide a Portfolio Showcasing Technical graphic production work Design schematics and process work Print or packaging design examples Typography-focused projects Layer organization and production-ready file preparation Product or book design workflows Note: Portfolios heavily focused on branding, illustration, or conceptual-only design work will not be considered.
