Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Greenhouse Associate to join our team.As Greenhouse Associate, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to greenhouse operations, farming, and customer service.This is a hands-on role that requires physical strength and the ability to work in various weather conditions.Duties:Watering, pruning, deadheading, fertilizing, and maintaining greenhouse stock in display greenhouse.Keeping annuals & perennials displayed, stocked and accurately labeled Establishing and maintaining relationships with wholesale greenhouses Consistent monitoring of plant quality, appropriately discarding any product not at its highest quality Purchasing and ordering plant material & supplies for the display greenhouse Creating and implementing displays with the latest products Maintaining cleanliness of greenhouse and display area outside of the greenhouse and overall organization throughout the work shift Friendly and effective customer service including helping customers with purchases and questions Keeping up with general grounds maintenance and landscape in designated areas Seeding, potting up, watering, and maintaining grow schedules for field transplants in the propagation house Working within a high performing team in a fast-paced environment Reading all information communicated through Homebase app, following scheduling posted on Homebase Hours will shift with the seasons however, the following is an example of what is expected - Late-April through June, Tuesday through Sunday 7am-4pm, must be here for Monday holidays (possibly Tuesdays off as well).The position can be short term and end in late June or could be extended to include additional farm tasks.In this case, the hours would change starting in late-June and employement would be extended through until November.Qualified applicants would be:At least 18 years of age Reliable transportation to work Ability to work efficiently based on priorities, willingness to take direction initiative, and constructive criticism Dedication to assigned work shifts, balancing outside personal matters with work Proactive, honest and constructive communication about work-related information Ability to self-motivate and follow a list - ability to work independently and follow detailed work instructions Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly and easily, and to hustle through a physically busy day Experience in customer service and retail Reliability and punctuality Experience with annual & perennial plants native to New England Familiarity with produce and plants Passion for local food and a willingness to share your passion Take pride in his/her work This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about agriculture, horticulture, or gardening.We offer a supportive work environment where you can learn and grow in your role.Job Types:Full-time, Seasonal Pay:From $16.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Paid sick time Ability to Relocate:Millis, MA 02054:Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location:In person.
