Your work will be seen and appreciated every day, from families enjoying parks to residents participating in recreation programs.This is more than maintenance; it's protecting and enhancing the spaces that bring our community together.If you are dependable, skilled, and ready to contribute to something meaningful, we encourage you to apply.Help us keep St.Cloud beautiful, safe, and thriving.Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.Maintains trees and plant life; trims plants and hedges; weeds plant beds; grinds stumps; prunes bushes; cuts and trims trees.Sprays herbicides and pesticides; plants trees, bushes, and flowers.Operates the riding mower, and smaller mowers, saws, edger, weed eater, blower and smaller power tools Removes weeds and debris from working areas, public lands, and other areas.Performs regular and routine maintenance, cleaning, repairing and servicing of equipment; reports major equipment problems to the assigned supervisor, and delivers equipment for repair.Works on a call-out basis in response to emergencies such as special events, natural disasters, leaks, equipment failures, and other urgency calls.Answers citizen and agency representative inquires; refers more complex questions to the assigned supervisor.Occasionally installs and repairs irrigation systems.Performs related work as assigned.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented six (6) months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.Must be able to communicate effectively in English.Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee is frequently required to move and reach with hands and arms.The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary; ascend or descend; communicate and taste or smell.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Mathematics:Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Language Ability:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Reasoning:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Work Environment:The work environmen
