Job Description
Job Purpose: Maintain property grounds using hand or power tools or equipment under the direction of a supervisor. Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities: Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Mow and edge property using power mowers and edgers. Shovel snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spread salt in those areas when applicable. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Gather and remove litter. Maintain tools and equipment. Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, veteran sitting areas, and other grounds features. Assure lawns are watered. Clean flower beds. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Must be at least 18 years old. Complete Bloodborne Pathogen training. Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner Be able to pass a background check and screening requirements as required by contract and company standards.
