Under the supervision of the Building/Grounds Supervisor; the incumbent performs duties assisting in the care and upkeep of the landscaped areas of campus grounds and performs building maintenance and repair in multi-skilled work environment. Mows grass weekly during peak season, picks up trash along the fence surrounding the campus, keeps grounds free of all limbs and debris, trims all bushes and hedges as needed, and cleans flower beds. Maintains equipment by doing daily preventive maintenance and keeps equipment free of debris by washing and blowing down equipment daily. Performs other related duties as required. The position for this posting is located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Minimum and Additional Requirements Experience in groundskeeping and maintenance work that is directly related to the area of employment. A Valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications 2 years working experience. Physical requirements: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, grasping, hearing, repetitive motions, driving (including nights), counting, and working over as required. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel practices in state government. Skill in the use of cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to train new employees in the proper performance of their duties.
