Job Title: Group Leader Grade: 3 Department/Function: Material Control Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 3:00pm Payrate: $26.35 Job Summary As a Group Leader, you are the backbone of the Material’s department success, leading the procedures and protocols in regards to proper inventory control. You will drive safety, quality, and production goals through hands-on training, expert problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We are looking for a reliable leader who works seamlessly with peers and is willing to go the extra mile—including overtime—to support the team and meet business needs. Job Duties and Essentials Functions: Operational Excellence: Take full ownership of safety, quality, delivery, and cost for your assigned area. The "Help Chain": Serve as the first point of contact for operator call lights; troubleshoot issues and provide immediate support. Safety & Analysis: Conduct safety and CAL investigations, reporting findings and implementing effective countermeasures. Standardization: Develop and audit standard work procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency, detailing various elements and aspects of inventory, keeping several databases and spreadsheets. Team Development: Focus on the growth of line operators through daily coaching, training new members, and distributing manpower effectively. Process Improvement: Execute model line changes, lead trial runs, and maintain 5S standards to optimize the work environment. Communication & Tech: Use various applications (spreadsheets, scrap tracking, schedules) to monitor performance and coordinate with support departments. Lifting & Carrying: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items with assistance. Required Qualifications Leadership Experience: Minimum of one year in a leadership NPH role (two years preferred). Candidates with a six-month temporary leadership assignment or current Backups/Group Leaders are encouraged to apply. Technical Ability: Must be able to learn and perform all work content on assigned teams within cycle time. Proficient with excel Communication: Basic English skills to effectively coordinate with team members and other departments. Flexibility: A strong willingness to work overtime as required. Must have High School Diploma or GED Preferred Skills & Experience: Background: Previous assembly line experience and proven leadership history. Lean Mindset: Understanding of lean tools, 1x1 problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Soft Skills: Strong people skills with the ability to reinforce accountability and ownership through positive employee relations. Execution: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make timely business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
