Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Retail Gunsmith to join our team.This position combines hands-on firearm repair and customization with direct customer interaction in a retail setting.The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, knowledgeable about a wide range of firearms, and committed to providing safe, compliant, and high-quality service.Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair customer firearms including handguns, rifles, and shotguns Perform common retail services such as sight installation, optic mounting, trigger work, cleaning, and minor part replacement Install and fit aftermarket accessories (optics, grips, stocks, rails, lights, etc.) Provide routine maintenance services including cleaning, lubrication, and function checks Assist customers in troubleshooting firearm issues and recommending appropriate services or upgrades Maintain detailed service logs and repair documentation Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local regulations, including those enforced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Work closely with sales staff to support customer needs and product recommendations Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area Safely handle and secure customer firearms at all times Qualifications Prior gunsmithing experience or formal gunsmith training Strong knowledge of common firearm platforms (Glock, AR-15, 1911, hunting rifles, shotguns, etc.) Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Familiarity with retail point-of-sale and service ticket systems preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment Understanding of federal and state firearm compliance requirements Ability to pass required background checks Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a retail gun store Federal Firearms License (FFL) experience Cerakote or firearm refinishing experience Armorer certifications (Glock, AR platform, etc.) Work Environment Retail storefront and workshop setting Frequent customer interaction Standing for extended periods Lifting up to 50 lbs Strict adherence to safety and firearm handling protocols Job Type:Full-time Pay:$17.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
