Experienced Gunsmith - 1911 & Double Stack 1911 Specialist Company:Race City Defense Location:Mooresville, NC Employment Type:Full-Time About Race City Defense Race City Defense is a performance-driven firearms manufacturer focused on premium double stack 1911 platforms.Our flagship line, the RC9 Series, is built for shooters who demand precision, durability, and refined craftsmanship.We are growing and looking for a skilled gunsmith who takes pride in high-level 1911 work and attention to detail.Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Gunsmith with strong hands-on experience in traditional 1911 and double stack 1911 platforms.The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of fitting, tuning, diagnostics, and finishing, and will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities ? Precision fitting of slides, frames, barrels, bushings, and safeties ? Hand-fitting ignition components (sear, hammer, disconnector) ? Trigger tuning and action work ? Reliability tuning and function testing ? Extractor and ejector fitting ? Sight installation ? Troubleshooting and diagnostics of customer firearms ? Quality control inspection of completed builds ? Working with DLC-coated components and aluminum grip modules ? Maintaining detailed build records and QC documentation Required Qualifications ? Minimum 1-5 years professional gunsmithing experience ? Extensive experience with 1911 platform (single stack and double stack) ? Strong understanding of 1911 timing and geometry ? Ability to read and interpret technical drawings ? Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) ? Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Preferred Qualifications ? Experience with double stack 1911 systems (2011-style platforms) ? Cerakote or finishing experience ?
