JOB TITLE:Halfway House Attendant DEPARTMENT:Food & Beverage REPORTS TO:Food & Beverage Assistant Manager WAGE CLASS:Full Time/Seasonal Position Summary:Provides exceptional food and beverage service to members and guests from the golf course halfway houses.Maintains cleanliness, stock levels, and efficient service throughout the shift.This seasonal position runs until mid-November with the opportunity to transition into banquet and dining service positions in the clubhouse during the off-season.About the Club:Founded in 1895, just minutes from New York City in northern New Jersey, Baltusrol Golf Cub remains true to its founder Louis Keller's bold vision to create a world class golf club befitting America's leading city.Baltusrol's two championship golf courses, both ranked among the top 100 in American by several major publications, have played distinguished roles on the national golf stage since their creation by architect A.W.Tillinghast.The Club has hosted 19 major championships in its history and will again welcome the world's best golfers when it hosts the 2029 PGA Championship.In 2014, Baltusrol was designated a National Historic Landmark in recognition of its legacy in American golf.Over the course of its 130-year history, Baltusrol has also distinguished itself as an international leader in hospitality.In 2019, the clubhouse at Baltusrol was recognized as one of the greatest classic clubhouses in America by Golf Digest.Baltusrol has been ranked #2 Platinum Golf Club in American by Club Leaders Forum since 2019 and was ranked the #5 Platinum Golf & Country Club in the World in 2025-26.Essential Functions:Greet and serve members and guests promptly and courteously Prepare and serve food and beverages, including assembling sandwiches and cooking hot dogs, without main kitchen support Operate the POS system for member billing; process transactions accurately and complete daily closeout procedures Stock beverages and snacks according to established par levels; rotate products to ensure freshness Maintain cleanliness and organization of halfway house, storage, and service areas Follow all alcohol service laws and club policies regarding ID verification and responsible service Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to state law Ability to operate a computerized POS system accurately and efficiently Friendly, professional demeanor with strong member-service orientation Dependable and adaptable in a fast-paced, seasonal environment Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergencies Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health/safety standards Intellectual Demands:High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior food and beverage or customer service experience desirable Experience operating a POS system preferred Licenses and Special Requirements Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages Valid driver's license preferred (for operational needs within club property) ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred Physical and Environment Demands:Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours) Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching Ability to work in variable weather conditions (sun, wind, rain, and varying temperatures) Noise level is generally moderate but may be high during busy events or outings Job Type:Seasonal, Full-time (potential for year-round employment in clubhouse) Pay:$16.00 - $18.00 per hour (The listed hourly wage reflects our no-tipping policy) Benefits:401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Schedule:8-hour shifts, day or evening Weekends and holidays required Required overtime as needed Ability to Commute:Springfield, NJ 07081 (Required) Work Location:In person Job Types:Full-time, Temporary Pay:$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours:30 - 40 per week Benefits:401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
