Handyman-Woodworking Nesco Resource is looking for a handyman-woodworking candidate in Brookfield, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate. Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30AM-3PM Pay: $24-$27/hour depending on skills and experience We are seeking a skilled handyman to join a fast-paced production environment. This hands-on role is responsible for building crates, cases, and custom wood packaging using hand and power tools. The ideal candidate has carpentry or woodworking experience and can read blueprints and work to precise specifications. Key responsibilities include assembling crates, cabinets, frames, and panels; measuring, cutting, and shaping wood materials to specifications; installing hardware such as hinges, latches, and brackets; reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work instructions; verifying measurements before cutting and assembly; operating hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, sanders, nail guns, etc.); using shop equipment such as table saws and planers as needed; maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area; operating material handling equipment (forklift/pallet jack if certified); working independently and with a team to meet production goals; and assisting with general warehouse and production tasks as needed. Qualifications include previous experience in carpentry, woodworking, assembly, or general construction; strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools; ability to read blueprints, measurements, and technical documents; comfort working in a warehouse/production environment; forklift experience is a plus; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods; ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift; strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic; and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
