Since you got this far, we’re assuming the answer is, “absolutely.” So, here’s what you can expect: As a Handyperson on the Kips Bay Court Facilities team, you’ll do be able to exercise troubleshooting and time management skills according to work orders. Flexible knowing and expecting that things change and that’s what makes our business stronger. What you will do: Efficiently complete all daily work orders in a specific amount of time. Communicate any delays in completing a work order with the supervisor and management office. Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, A/C, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry. Work with office team to ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed and on schedule. Maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance, building mechanicals, service requests and apartment make-ready status. Respond to after hour on-call emergencies. Stay current on all applicable building codes and safety standards. Maintain trash rooms and dumpster areas. Coordinate proper workshop inventory with maintenance supervisor. Be an ambassador of the property by answering resident questions and be generally helpful while always representing our cultural responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned by your Supervisor. What you should have: 2-5 Years of experience as a handyperson. 3-5 years of experience in plaster Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a construction trade preferred. Building maintenance environment, indoor/outdoor, consisting of exposure to moving mechanical parts and seasonal temperature changes ranging from freezing to extreme heat. Ability to climb ladders and crawl into confined spaces. Ability to endure walking, squatting, bending, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crawling and prolonged standing. May be required to work weekends or overtime. A strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others A belief that doing the right thing is the only option , no matter how difficult it might be A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day A valid Driver's License that must be enrolled in the New York State License Event Notification Service (LENS) program.
