Head Athletic Trainer Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) | Dubuque, Iowa The Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are seeking a highly motivated and professional Head Athletic Trainer to join our organization immediately. This individual will play a key role in supporting the health, performance, and development of elite junior hockey athletes in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The Head Athletic Trainer will work closely with the coaching staff and hockey operations department to provide comprehensive care for players both on and off the ice. Reports To General Manager & Head Coach Primary Responsibilities Oversee the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of player injuries and illnesses Communicate player status, recovery timelines, and medical updates with coaching and management staff Provide emergency care and first aid services during practices, games, and team activities Design and implement rehabilitation and recovery programs Maintain accurate medical records, treatment documentation, and insurance-related paperwork Manage athletic training inventory, supplies, and departmental budget needs Assist with team travel, game-day preparation, and daily hockey operations support Represent the organization professionally within the community and at team functions Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a high-intensity, team-oriented environment Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Familiarity with standard athletic training and rehabilitation equipment and recovery modalities Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic record management Commitment to professionalism, player care, and maintaining a positive team culture Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required; Master’s degree preferred BOC Certified Athletic Trainer with current state licensure/certification eligibility Emergency Cardiac Care Certification required Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background screening Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extensive hockey schedules Preferred Qualifications Experience in junior, collegiate, or professional hockey Massage therapy or dry needling experience/certification Compensation & Benefits Seasonal Salary Range: $35,000-38,000 (9.5 Months) Monthly cell phone stipend Health insurance contribution (80/20 employer/employee split) Optional dental and vision coverage Team apparel discount Professional development support, including NATA membership, PHATS membership, Iowa licensure, liability insurance, and continuing education opportunities About the Dubuque Fighting Saints The Dubuque Fighting Saints are a premier Tier I junior hockey organization competing in the United States Hockey League.
