Position Overview The Head Lifeguard supports the daily operations of the SRD Aquatics facility, including enforcing facility rules and policies, ensuring member safety, maintaining proper water chemistry, supervising lifeguard performance and overseeing swim lessons to ensure they run smoothly This leadership role works closely with the Aquatics Director and Aquatic Specialist to maintain a safe, well-staffed, and highly trained aquatics program.This is a year-round, part-time position.Responsibilities Serve as the on-site lead for SRD Aquatics Facility when Aquatics Supervisor and Specialist are not on site Model professionalism, leadership, and strong safety standards on deck Learn SRD pool rules, membership policies, swim lesson levels and rules Communicate and answer questions for members Oversee swim lessons and ensure lessons run smoothly and all children are in the correct skill level Support staff Assist with in-service training Enforce pool safety rules and respond to emergencies as needed Support special events and district programming Process cash, check and card payments Schedule More hours:April through October, and as needed Light hours:November - March, and as needed Required availability:Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays Weekday hours vary based on pool operations, programming, and events Year round, part time Qualifications Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross) Minimum of 1 years of lifeguarding experience Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Benefits & Compensation $24-$32 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Competitive seasonal pay To Apply Please email a brief introduction and relevant experience to swim@strawberryrec.org Pay:$24.00 - $32.00 per hour License/Certification:Red Cross Lifeguard certification - deep and shallow water (Required) Work Location:In person.
