Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Head Meat Cutter to lead our meat department in delivering high-quality products to our customers.The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in meat cutting, food safety, and food preparation, with a strong focus on customer service and team leadership.This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where culinary expertise and precision are highly valued.The Head Meat Cutter will oversee daily operations, ensure adherence to food safety standards, and maintain the highest quality of meat products.Duties Lead and supervise the meat cutting team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of various meats.Perform precise meat cutting, trimming, and portioning using professional knife skills and meat saws.Prepare meat products for packaging, ensuring proper labeling and presentation according to company standards.Maintain strict food safety and sanitation protocols throughout all stages of food handling and processing.Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to meet customer demand.Assist with food production tasks such as seasoning, marinating, or preparing specialty cuts as needed.Ensure all products meet quality standards through regular inspection and quality control checks.Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and offering product recommendations when necessary.Train and mentor team members on proper meat cutting techniques, safety procedures, and food handling practices.Collaborate with management to develop new product offerings or improve existing processes.Skills Extensive experience in food production, food preparation, and meat cutting within the food industry or restaurant environment.Strong knife skills with the ability to perform precise cuts efficiently.Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.Familiarity with packaging techniques suitable for retail or wholesale distribution.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.Previous kitchen or culinary experience is highly desirable, especially in a retail or restaurant setting.Leadership abilities to manage a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.This position is ideal for an experienced culinary professional passionate about meat preparation and team leadership within the food industry.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$17.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours:40 per week Benefits:Flexible schedule Opportunities for advancement Retirement plan Work Location:In person.
