The successful candidate will be responsible for raising joint venture equity from high-quality multifamily equity partners for new development projects, as well as developing and executing capital-raising strategies that align with the company's growth and investment objectives. This role involves negotiating partnership terms, overseeing the production of offering materials, and managing investor due diligence processes. The Head of Capital Markets will also serve as the primary point of contact for project-level investors, maintain relationships with lenders, and assess and manage debt levels to ensure risk is appropriately managed. Applicants for the Head of Capital Markets position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master's degree or MBA. A minimum of 10 years' of experience in multifamily development, real estate finance, or a related area is required, along with a proven track record in closing multifamily equity transactions and construction loans. The role demands the ability to develop and maintain high-quality relationships with equity capital sources and lenders, as well as the capacity to independently manage multiple capitalizations and financings. Experience in property-level accounting, the ability to analyze financial statements, and a strong cultural fit with the company's entrepreneurial environment are also essential. The Head of Capital Markets will work closely with senior leadership, development, acquisitions, portfolio management, and finance teams, and must stay informed on market trends and factors impacting capital markets.
