Head of E and S Platform Development About the Company Disruptive digital insurance platform Industry Insurance Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Head of E&S Platform Development to spearhead the strategic design, buildout, and operationalization of a non-admitted/excess and surplus insurance platform. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the strategy and execution to create a platform that goes beyond a commercial transportation base, developing a multi-year roadmap for various aspects of the business, and defining the target operating model. This executive will also be responsible for assessing the organization's current capabilities, identifying gaps, and making decisions on the development or acquisition of necessary systems. A key part of the role is to build and lead a cross-functional team, establish relationships with distribution partners, and ensure the platform's launch and scaling are aligned with the company's profitability goals. Applicants for the Head of E&S Platform Development position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background in underwriting specialty, excess, and surplus lines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building or launching E&S platforms, technical expertise in product development and underwriting, and a hands-on approach to transforming underwriting solutions. Leadership capabilities are essential, including the ability to think strategically, influence change, and lead cross-functional teams. Experience in M&A or new business development, as well as a deep understanding of the E&S regulatory environment and market, is also required.
