Our organization is a membership community and media organization for high-level financial communications and marketing professionals. We produce a growing calendar of high-quality live events for 20-150 attendees at a time, webinars, small group programming and industry awards. We partner with some of the top brands in finance to bring together members to share best practices and advance their careers. The Role The Head of Events is the operational and strategic engine behind our event portfolio. This person owns the full lifecycle of every event — from venue sourcing and speaker logistics to sponsorship coordination, RSVP management, and on-site execution — while managing a small cross-functional team. You will work closely with the leadership and all members of the 7-person team to deliver best-in-class experiences for a senior, discerning audience. This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives on detail, operates proactively, demonstrates excellent judgement and holds themselves and others to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Execution Own end-to-end planning and delivery for 6–8 annual events across New York and London, including full-day forums, summits, cocktail events, and intimate small-group sessions Manage venue sourcing, site visits, AV coordination, catering, signage, name badges, swag, and on-site run-of-show For live events, coordinate the on-site team, assigning roles to various team members to roles, briefing everyone, and overseeing activities at all events. Develop and maintain detailed event budgets; track actuals against projections and flag variances Speaker Management Partner with leadership to review potential speakers. Speaker recruitment may become a long-term responsibility, but is currently handled by a different team member Draft speaker communications, manage prep call scheduling, and collect materials (slides, mailing addresses for gifts, etc.) Coordinate speaker logistics for hybrid events including AV testing and slide review Sponsorship & Partner Coordination Partner with sponsorship manager to manage sponsor relationships and deliverables, including breakout session logistics, promotional statistics, and post-event materials Coordinate with sponsors on slide submissions, room assignments, and signage Support partnership development and revenue initiatives alongside leadership Registration & Attendee Management Own RSVP tracking across multiple systems (Goldcast, Survey Monkey, spreadsheets), maintaining accuracy and resolving discrepancies Manage comp lists, member verification, and attendee communications Coordinate breakout session sign-ups and room allocation Team & Operations Manage and coordinate a small events team and contractors, setting clear priorities and accountability Oversee and train events assistant, providing guidance to junior team members Oversee all team activities related to events (beyond the events themselves, partner with other team members on event promotion, event follow-ups etc) Build and maintain event checklists, timelines, and process documentation Conduct venue site visits in NYC (5-6 per year) and support virtual coordination for London events (no on-site work in London) Liaise with external vendors including caterers, photographers, AV teams, printers, and decorators What We're Looking For 5+ years of event management experience, ideally in B2B, media, financial services, or professional communities Proven ability to manage high-touch, senior-audience events with multiple concurrent workstreams Strong project management skills — you build the timeline, own the checklist, and identify gaps before they become problems Experience managing budgets with strict cost discipline Excellent communicator — proactive, calm under pressure, and solutions-oriented Comfortable working across time zones in an asynchronous, remote-first environment Proficiency with event and project management tools (Goldcast, Asana, Airtable, or similar); CRM experience a plus Experience managing or coordinating contractors and junior team members An entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to experiment and learn A team-player who wants to collaborate and be part of a growing team NYC-based or able to travel to NYC regularly for on-site events and site visits Nice to Have Experience with hybrid/virtual event platforms Familiarity with financial services, fintech, or professional media industries Background supporting spo
