Family Service Coordinator Reports to: Head Start: Prenatal to Three Director Full Time/ Full Year Torrington Salary Range: $19.00 - $28.50 per hour Commensurate with Experience Position is open until filled / Anticipated start date is TBD Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families? EdAdvance is seeking a qualified Family Service Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play an important role in recruiting, enrolling, and providing essential social services to families participating in the Head Start program. Major Responsibilities Family Engagement: Recruit and enroll children and families into the program, establishing ongoing relationships with them. Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all interactions and documentation. Comprehensive Support: Provide comprehensive social services to families, addressing their unique needs and challenges. Home Visits: Conduct home visits to assess family needs and provide support. Health Screenings: Collaborate with the Health Manager to conduct health screenings for program participants. Parent Engagement: Facilitate parent meetings to promote family involvement and community-building. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or an Associate degree with a minimum of two years of experience in social services. Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children and families. Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Mobility: Ability to travel between program sites using your personal vehicle. Occasional use of a program van may be required to transport families. Licensing: Possession of a valid Connecticut driver's license. Flexibility: Willingness to take on other duties as assigned. Attendance: Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position. Regularly engages with families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Bilingual candidates preferred; fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, manage crises, and effectively support children and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds, including those from low-income communities. Knowledge of community resources and the referral process. Strong organizational and communication skills. Flexible and adaptable with respect to schedule, responsibilities, and program needs. Ability to build and maintain effective, trusting relationships. Excellent interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues. Willingness to actively participate in program evaluation, contribute to action planning, and support implementation of new initiatives.
