Overview Join our dynamic team as a Hearing Instrument Specialist Trainee and embark on an exciting journey to become a vital part of patient care in in our hearing healthcare practice . This paid training position offers hands-on experience in hearing health, combining technical skill development with compassionate patient service. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals to learn the essentials of hearing instrument fitting, patient assessment, and clinical support, all while making a meaningful difference in people's lives. Duties Assist in conducting patient assessments by gathering medical histories and performing basic physiological evaluations related to hearing health Support the fitting and adjustment of hearing instruments under supervision, ensuring optimal device performance for each patient Learn to interpret medical terminology and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding to document patient interactions accurately Participate in intake procedures, including explaining procedures and answering patient questions with clarity and empathy Help maintain detailed records of patient visits, device settings, and treatment plans in accordance with clinic protocols Support compliance with occupational health standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients Qualifications Strong interest in health sciences, audiology, or related fields with a desire to develop specialized skills in hearing health care Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to the auditory system Ability to perform patient assessments and intake procedures with attention to detail and compassion Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and providing outstanding patient service Willingness to learn technical skills related to hearing instrument fitting, troubleshooting, and ICD coding This paid trainee position provides an excellent foundation for those aspiring to become licensed Hearing Instrument Specialists.
