American Contracting & Excavation, LLC Heavy Civil Construction Estimator (Earthwork & Utilities) American Contracting and Excavation LLC is a Florida-based heavy civil contractor specializing in large-scale earthwork, underground utilities, site development, paving, and structural site concrete.We support commercial, municipal, and private development clients and continue to expand our footprint across the state.We are hiring a Heavy Civil Estimator with strong earthwork and underground utility experience to support our growing backlog and bid volume.Position Overview:The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids for heavy civil construction projects including mass grading, site development, storm/sewer/water utilities, and roadway work.This role is critical to our growth strategy and requires someone who understands production-based estimating, risk management, and margin protection.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications Estimate mass grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage, paving, and site concrete Analyze geotechnical reports and project specifications Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing Develop production-based labor and equipment budgets Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk factors Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits Assist with bid strategy and margin analysis Support project managers during handoff after award Qualifications:5years estimating experience in heavy civil construction Strong background in earthwork and underground utilities Experience with municipal, FDOT, or commercial site projects preferred Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines Strong knowledge of production rates and equipment costing Proficient in estimating software (HCSS, Agtek, Planswift, Bluebeam, or similar) Advanced Excel skills Preferred Skills:Experience with Florida soil conditions and permitting Familiarity with FDOT specifications Ability to review and interpret CAD files Strong communication and organizational skills Compensation & Benefits:Competitive salary (based on experience) Performance-based bonus opportunity Health benefits Paid time off Long-term growth potential within a growing heavy civil contractor Schedule:Full-time Monday-Friday Occasional site visits required Work Location Florida (office-based with project site visits as needed) If you are an experienced heavy civil estimator who understands earthwork production, underground utilities, and competitive bidding strategy, we want to hear from you.American Contracting and Excavation LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Work Location:Hybrid remote in Naples, FL 34104.
